I really appreciate all the information available on this site. The post about a long parked engine was excellent and made for a change in my plans
that hopefully will serve me well. Now I'm wondering if there is a similar procedure for the generator to keep it from destroying itself on initial
start up. Oil in the spark plugs -- hand cranking several full revolutions -- new oil and filter (filter full of oil) all are good starting points but
how to run the oil pump? I have not seen any posts about changing the onan to LP which would save the fuel evaporation problem.

Thanks for all the information freely available here.

Thank you for that link. More reading BUT you can never do too much of that before jumping into a project. Better to be prepared than to make a
mistake that gets $$$$ expensive.

You can only fill the filter a bit less than halfway since it's side mounted. If it was me, I'd pull the spark plugs, toss a spoonful of motor oil
down fill the filter about a third full and put it on, fill the sump wioth new oil, and run the starter for several 20 second runs. Then replace the
sparkplugs, prime it with a bit of gas down the card, and spin it.
