Those valve covers have baffle plate bosses alongside the breather &
oil filler openings on the underside of the top of the valve covers.
There's a sheet metal baffle that should be mounted slightly below the
opening, 1/4" or so that prevents the oil mist from being sucked into
the carb, also keeps the same from happening to the air cleaner during
the reversion process. Gotta have these, especially with the amount of
oil that accumulates in the valve covers on these motors. Cheap
safeguard.
