Well, Houser Camper Mfg. in Lincolnton, NC provided an estimate of repairs
to me and the insurance adjuster. The repair cost is about what I paid for
the Motorhome and it does not include a complete paint job.

The adjuster wants to start me off where I was when I had no Motorhome - he
wants to pay me what I paid for the Motorhome, plus, tax, tag, 50 gal of gas
and the service job that was done the day of the accident.

I am not an expert at dealing with Insurance companies, but this seems to be
my best bet. If this goes through I am looking!

I still would like to have a GMC. It may be a week or so before I have my
cash back but I will be looking hard in the mean time.

Will there be any GMCs for sale at GMCMI's 25th Anniversary celebration of
the introduction of the 1973 GMC Motorhome at the fall convention in Marion,
NC October 11-17, 1998?

I am open to suggestions?

Still don't understand why you don't buy the coach from the insurance
company? how much do they figure it is worth?

It would cost me about $6000 to get the motorhome and another $20,000 to fix
it.

Thomas;

Who is the insurance company and ask them where they sell the salvage if
you would. I can bid on it if it comes up for sale (my brother has a
wholesale auto license) and I would love to have it for spares.

Thanks

Than something does not make sense. If they are willing to give you back
all of the money that you paid for it, in essence paying for it totally,
than you should have been able to get $6000 more.I thought they were
totalling it?

Hi Thomas,

Pleased to hear that situation has improved.

Sounds fair enough. If it were me, I would take the money and go find
another one.

Others will probably feel you should and could get some money for your
inconvenience.

There are plenty of GMCs looking for buyers. Last winter while shopping for
ours, I located over 50 listed for sale on various internet sites.

We found our mistress 450 miles down the interstate for much less money than
some nearly identical ones closer to our home. I suppose we were lucky, but
our seller was obviously tired of trying to sell it and wanted to be rid of
it.

Several months ago a 76 Glenbrook in Timberville, Virginia was for sale.
Original owner was asking $17,000. It appeared all original and had around
40,000 miles since new. No dings ever and stored in a barn most of it's
life. Interior fabric appeared to be OK but needed a professional cleaning.
(540) 896-6530 to check it out.

Good luck,

Don

I bought the Coca-Cola that was advertised in Nashville, TN. Just got back
late Thursday night. I will update later once I see what I have really
bought.

We are in the detail, cleanup, re-stock, evaluate, and 'hope I did not pay
too much' stage.

I believe that it has possibilities. Maybe we will make it to Marion, NC in
October.

BYW, the wrecked Eleganza will be auctioned by the insurance company
sometime in the near future. They want $6700.
