Trying to fix a GM fresh water tank at the sending unit.

I'm helping a guy with his GMC that has the GM interior. The tank in the 73 that I just sold is identical. And it's been repaired by a PO. Both have crack lines coming out from the screws. So what's been a good repair method? Bob Dunahugh 78 Royale.

If the material is fatigued to cracking at the penetration I would
carefully drill new holes for new senders and patch the old holes with a
material compatible with the tank material.

My 73 had similar cracks, along with a few others, I repaired it about 7 years ago.
It held up until last year and I have not pulled it to see if there are new cracks or if the repaired ones need to be fixed again.

I bought a new tank over the winter but have not found the motivation to remove the permanent bed and install it.
I did not buy the GMC specific tank, but one that was about the same dimensions.

Since I do not boondock, I wish I had gone with a smaller tank, so I could have more room for storage.

I believe I used "Flex-Tex: Flex-Set Underwater Epoxy"

I used a hot glue gun on the Coachman clear plastic tank. Held up great.
