In an earlier posting, I let folks know that this is the unit that I bought after looking at alternatives and talking to Wes.
It's a great performing unit - especially for the price. You can get remote metering and a temp sensor that helps t avoid
overcharging. The one drawback that I found to the unit is that if your genset initially puts out too high or too low of a
voltage, the TrueCharge stays offline. The only way that I've found to get the charger to actually kick in once htis happens
is to shut everything down and re-start. I'll let you all know what the cause of the charger staying offline, even if I cycle
the AC mains via the breakers, when I figure it out. Otherwise - it's a great little unit. From what I've read in the various
12V handbooks, the 40+ is just about the right size for 2 Trojan 105s. I normally try to discharge to 30% capacity and
recharge to 80% when we're boondocking. After the 80% point the charger reduces the charge rate so that using the genset
becomes pretty inefficient.
