Mexico laws are Napoleonic - It's up to you to prove you are innocent. You
have an accident and you go to jail while they sort it out. Have access to
money so you can bail yourself out.

US insurance is useless, only Mexican insurance can represent you in
claims. AAA has Mexican representative that they use. Go through your
American insurance to get your Mexican representative.

Having a gun or ammunition is a 30 year prison sentence - zero tolerance

The Federalials/police had the right to stop and search you.

Drug runners have be known to attach/hide their stuff to your vehicle and
let you carry it through the borders and US check point - if they know
where to pick it up when you are back in the states. Expect multiple
searches on your return. Drugs for Americans have corrupted their world.

The Mexican people are very nice and helpful - but very poor. Our biggest
problem in our Mexico Travels have been the unruly/drunk young Americans -
both male and female.

Boarder towns do not reflect the rest of Mexico.

Some will disagree. The Mexicans are not victims as much as they are
predators. Americans are dying on a regular and/or daily basis down there.
They have a very large appetite for drugs and have for a long, long time.
And by the way, seems like there are a lot here (USA) and their drugs use
hasn't diminished. They outlet their drugs to Mexicans in the US. 85% of the
crime is done by 15% of the population. Tokyo Rose did federal time in the
big house for doing less than Jane Fondal.
I never use this net for this type comment, one should stay on GMC and not
promote their political viewpoints.
