Does anyone know the pressure in a line running in the transmission cooling
system?
The reason I ask is that I have an in-line filter and cooler and am
wondering if I Really need to be double clamping every connection. I've
slightly flared the steel tubing and the cooler and the filter have a form
of bubble flair on their ends.
I've always done this my entire life and double clamped as well.....but
that certainly doesn't make it right.

What I want to hear is 'not necessary' to double band clamp the rubber bits
to the steel tubing...

Tks

Mike

Mike,

Give Manny a quick call re the pressure four 0 eight - 9 three 7 - one 5 eight 3.

The in line filter is superfluous - the filter in the trans pan is a fine paper filter in my opinion.

The rubber hoses in the secondary trans cooler in Double Trouble is double clamped. I figgered since the cooler doesn't get removed
frequently why not. Plus the clamps screws are 180 degrees apart.

But as you know I'm an anal retentive pedantic bugger!

I know very well how you think !

I decided to throw all caution to the wind and went with one clamp per
joint. Should I not be able to sleep tonight, I have a flashlight and a
can full of clams ..

Mike,

I just have to ask.....
What are the clams for??

Also, if you are only using one clamp, don't use screw (Ideal) type. I would advise that you use Corbin or other spring/contant tension clamps so the
joint will stay tight when the rubber of the hose creeps.
