For those that tow trailers, how much drop/ rise are you using on your trailer hitch? I am getting a tandem axle aluminum flatbed to haul the
motorcycles and need to get a new hitch, coach has the receiver already. I would go out and measure but it is still at JimBs. Thanks!

The rise (or drop) of the needed draw bar is determined by the height of the trailer, and where the receiver is mounted on your coach. You really
need to go measure yours. Through the bumper receivers are 3" to 5" higher than under the bumper types. Trailer heights also vary a lot. You would
like to tow the trailer so the bed rides level when it is loaded and attached to the vehicle.

Good points Ken and thank you for the response. I am looking at an Andersen Adjustable hitch. It looks like from their guidance a 4 in drop/rise
would work for my application. I have to use it on my Pickup to go pick up the trailer from the manufacturer. Our coach has a below the bumper hitch
and I am pretty sure it is lower to the ground than the hitch on my F-150 (17 in). At least I will purchase it with a 30 day return so if I need to
get a bigger one I can although I think more than 4 inches will cause rear clearance issues.

Ken is correct in that the rise or drop is subject to the height of the trailer versus the height of the hitch. I use a standard hitch on mine (about
a 2" drop) with a TTB hitch on the coach. I think the standard hitch height for most applications is about 18" off the ground. Of course, this also
depends on the ride height of the coach. When mine is in 'travel' the rear bumper is a little lower and the trailer probably slopes forward, but
whenever I am on surface streets, I generally raise the back end in order to clear driveway slopes, etc. so it might slope to the rear somewhat.

Assuming that your hitch is a 2" square receiver. If so, don't worry about the height of the bumper socket. You can buy ball mounts with several different heights to get your ball at whatever height you need.
