I've got a Jeep Cherokee, so my spin might be a bit different from the
Samurai/Sidekick/Tracker gang. I bought the Cherokee because I wanted
something a bit larger(and IMO practical) than the Sidekick. Weight is
around 3,200 lbs in 4WD.

"Practicality" is subjective. That's your call. The Saturn is probably the
"all around" winner in my book for light weight and comfort.

AFAIK - yes

Not in the Jeeps, just put the transfer case in neutral and leave
transmission in park. The Samurai/Sidekick/Tracker need manual hubs. BTW,
you're also supposed to start the engine every 200 miles on the S/S/T models
to circulate the transmission fluid. No such requirement on the Jeeps.

Again, "best" is subjective. The more features you want, the more you will
spend. Duncan and Blue Ox both have good "A" frame bars for around $150. A
slick, aluminum frame folding bar that stays on the coach will be around
$400.

YES!!! Don't even think about towing w/o brakes including breakaway
protection. BTW, for brakes, I like the BrakeBuddy. Simple and
effective(not cheap tho').

The Suzuki Sidekick is the same vehicle as the Geo(now Chevrolet) Tracker.
The Suzuki Samurai was the predecessor of the Sidekick and is slightly
smaller.

I have a 1986 Ford Bronco II as a toad that I have used for several years.
It has auto transmission and 4 wheel drive, hard top. Never had any trouble
with it. You should be able to buy one for about $2500.

Just want to reiterate - the Jeeps do not need manual hubs to tow. They
also have no speed or distance limitations.

There's a list of towds on the Motorhome Magazine web site - I'm sure
the URL is around here somewhere. It lists weights and limitations for
current production vehicles.

Buggy? Saturn "S: Series 2,400-2,600 lbs

electrical problems.......Best tow vehicle in my opinion.
