Steve,If you have the time, please post the torsion bar unloader tool
part
number. Is it also from OTC or another manufacture? I thought I read
a
few months back that the OTC927 tool could be rigged in some way to
unload
the torsion bars.

Phil,
The tool is Kent Moore J 22517-8. It is pictured in the GM factory
manual. I don't see how you can do this job without this tool or making
something similar. Oil the threads & use grease on the tip.
I see how the OTC 927 could be rigged using a heavy duty u-bolt with a
small tit welded to the arc. The Kent Moore tool fits perfectly in the
indentation in the crossmember and the indentation in the pork chop.
By the way, I failed to mention that Fred Cleppers also sent me the OTC
927 tool in a reasonable amount of time.
