Paul, this sounded like a good idea to me so I stopped by my favorite speed
shop for awhile today to pick brains. Showed them this device in the Jegs
catalog.
They were familiar with them, thought it a good idea especially for a
motorhome, but hadn't actually used one.
Then the bright one said; "Why spend $70 for a fan that soaks up horsepower.
Catch some cool ram air and run it into the torque converter housing through
an input tube. Then take a second tube and duct hot output air into a low
pressure area."
I thought that sounded like some pretty good advice.
All agreed getting rid of torque converter heat at the source would make it
easier on transmission and reduce the load on the radiator.
