Yesterday, while driving in our GMC, my wife noticed that her toll window latch was loose. Upon further review, I found out that one of the two screws
that fasten the latch to the glass had broken and the part outside with the rounded end is missing. It looks like it is somewhat a specialty item.
Applied has the complete latch assembly for sale @ $120. I don't need the latch, just the special faster. The PO must have used locktite red on the
the remaining screws because I can't get them loose for further examination. Anyone know of a source?

All of the GMC suppliers have them for a few dollars each. I also found some at a hardware store but that was over 10 years ago and I forget where it
was. Probably Ace Hardware.

Make sure the metal does not touch the glass as that will cause the glass
to shatter.

IIRC they are called sex nuts. Also called binder screws for binding documents or reports.

Wow I'm not a young man anymore and all this time I never knew about "sex nuts".

Sounds like a joke, but Google says otherwise. "A sex bolt, (also known as a barrel nut, barrel bolt, Chicago screw, post and screw or connector
bolt), is a type of fastener (nut) that has a barrel-shaped flange and protruding boss that is internally threaded."

McMaster-Carr has quite an assortment of them.

I keep learning something new everyday!

Thanks to everyone that responded to my question.
