Wow that's pretty close to where we have a cottage. Our cottage is on Lake
Huron and located near the huge city of Forestville about 30 miles from
Croswell. We just bought up there a year ago and so I don't know much about
the camping in the area. I do know there is free camping with electricity in
Sandusky behind the Big Boy. Also there are a number of campgrounds along M25
(Lake Shore) right by Lexington and up toward Forester. As far as quality, the
commercial places don't look very good so I would avoid them. There is are a
few state and county parks, but I have no idea what they are like.
I'm sure that Max Pardy will be able to tell you of suitable camping in the
area. In fact I've seen a number of folks camped right in Buskrik's parking
lot while waiting for service. Give Max a call at Buskirk's. I know that he
would love to talk to you about camping and your GMC.
So where is the race? Is it in Croswell and not on Lake Huron? Looking at the
map I see the Black River runs near Croswell.
Gee maybe we could have a mini GMCnet rally up there or at least get a few of
us together to have dinner or adult beverages or whatever while you're in the
area.
