Emery, I've ridden motorcycles for 40 plus years. I worked with Dr.
Hartman for the development of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation for the
Air Force. Those efforts mandated the USAF Motorcycle Safety Hands On
program. The other militaries followed suit. The way I see it. it is
the each individuals own personal thinking it isn't going to happen to
him/her. It may happen to you or the other guy but not them.
Complacency is a terrible thing. What's more the education by hard
knocks is even worse. But of course no body will listen. It just isn't
going to happen to them. I think tires can stand up to this analogy.
