Could someone please explain what I am missing. The cognitive dissonance
is just to great for me. There must be something that I am doing wrong.
Please help me find my way.
Arch,
I don't know if you're right or wrong. I read all the postings about
tire pressures AFTER I took a 1,000 or so mile trip in our GMC. I kept
the tires at 65 lbs during the trip. I immediately added another 15 lbs
to each tire. We don't carry much in the coach. Water, gas, a case of
beer, small BBQ, 50 lb tool box, small TV & that's about all other than
some clothing items. We're used to traveling on a motorcyle so we still
pack light.
I do not like the ride now, it's like riding on solid rubber tires in
that road irregularities and bumps are more pronounced. The ride got a
bit squirrelier too!
I think your chart has some good numbers on it. It does make sense to
add air as the load increases, I've always done that to auto/truck
tires, but, of course, never exceeding the max PSI recommendation.
We're probably going to get into it again here but I like your track
best so far.
