More and more thermometers are coming out in Centigrade rather than Fahrenheit which I was raised with.
Equipment temp gages are using centigrade, supposedly more accurate,
I may have come up with an easier solution.
Here is what I came up with.
If the CENT temp is 20, the Fahr temp is 68
The formula is F = 20C times 9/5 + 32
My method
Take 20C, divide in half, then divide in half again and add 32
so
20 plus 10 plus 5 plus 32 equals 67
in the case of a odd answer, round UP
My method ----→ 21C plus 11 plus 6 plus 32 equals 70F
the forumula ---→ 21 times 9/5 plus 32 equals 69F
Reversely
Fahr to Cent is
my method---→ 70F minus ¼, minus 32
------------------→ 70F divide by 4 and subtract that answer, minus 32
so ---------------→ 70F minus 17, minus 32 equals 21C
in this case you would not round up
the formula----→ 70C minus 32 times 5/9 equals 21.111
simpler way to get the answer, esp in the field
