There's been a bunch of traffic here lately about the virtues of
synthetic lubricants and often the possibility of extended service
intervals arises. Let's not be "penny wise" here folks. I've also
lately switched all my vehicles over to synthetics for the friction (and
wear)reduction properties. Even though synthetics are more expensive
than the dead dinosaur lubricants, they're still cheap compared to
engines and trannies. I'm sticking with the recommended service
intervals on all my vehicles(that means I feel better about the factory
recommended 7,500 mile oil change interval on my wife's new Olds
Silhouette) especially the GMC.
My $.02,
