We used to use those in "street machines" with radical camshafts. We
hooked the leads up to the brake switch to keep the car from creeping
across intersections while stopped. They generate a lot of heat in the
stall mode as will any "stall" type converter. The stock trans cooler
usually can't dissipate it and an aux cooler is required. Most of the
Hi-Po factory Olds used them. Darryl Young Racing Transmissions in L.A.
specializes in them.
