The cones protect the stock airbags. Of course, its a good idea to keep
rare parts out of the landfills. Someone may need those cones in the
future. :)

That's why I am trying to find a home for them. Unfortunately, I can not be a warehouse for the community.

They won't go to the landfill. The metal recycler will buy the aluminum.

i don't mind holding the cones for whomever may need them... i have the space.
i just don't know that I have a use for them at this time.

Reply mainly for Dave. Check your air bag cones. Early cones were plastic and not up to the task at hand. They will fail, only question is when and
where. With my luck, it would be in an extremely isolated place without cell service. You should have Al cones. Scratch them with a nail and see if
the scratch is shiny. Shiny means metal, nothing to worry about. If still black, without metallic shine, replace as soon as possible.

Thank you Tom, and Bob (via email) for the info regarding cones. I'm happy to know that I have metal cones, and now understand that the early plastic
cones are unsafe! I love my GMC... and am grateful to this community for getting me up to speed!

I'll take the cones, if still available.
