You could pull the fuse but if your air system is not asking for air the
compressor should be off. If it isn't shutting off then you may have a
problem with the pressure valve.

Tom,
The $99,000 question is, "Is the compressor creating pressure?". If not,
you need to repair or replace it, if so, you have a leak in the tank, lines
to the valves or in something that sees the tanks pressure.

Of course, you could have a blown out valve but that would be less likely.

Divide and conquere, check the compressor first.

I'm just finishing up rebuilding my compressor. Piece of cake - worst
part is taking apart the cranks and piston pins since they're locktited
with no good way to hold them still. I finally used long-nosed
vise-grips and drawfiled the marks off the crank eccentrics after I got
it apart.

I'll try to get the pic's up this weekend, but I'm planning more GMC
work.
