Could they be the wires for the pin switch that tells you when door is open
by lighting idiot light on dash?

I have 2 wires one black and one white on the right side of my door... Are
these for the step light??? If so how is the light controlled?? The black

The 'door open' light only has one wire to the switch at the door. Sounds like
maybe PO is to blame. Unless in the early years there were two. Darren
