Lanier--
Are you sure it is the starter and not a weak battery, ;poor solenoid, and/or
poor connections (ground and primary)??
I have looked at the extra heavy duty starter shown in the most recent Camping
World catalog. Does anyone know it this is any good??

FWIW

>From your description it sounds more like you have a weak battery than it
does a bad starter. It's difficult to tell the difference between a weak
battery and a dragging starter but if jumping it helps it's probably the
battery.

I've been through three starters in the last two years. The first two would
tend to drag when the engine was hot but the third always spins it easily.
I've always been on the road when I needed to change one so haven't had to
make any choices in what I installed but the last one is definitely
stronger than the others. It was purchased at Green Mountain Auto
(CarQuest) in Bar Harbor, Me. # two was purchased in south Miami on new
years day so I've got two of the corners of the country covered.
