Starter

Appreciate the input but I am leaving tomorrow morning
and a rebuilt went in last night. Tuned her up last
night I have never seen a distributor stuck quite that
tight in an engine, it took me about 1/2 hour just to
free it up enough to set the timing, I still had to
use a wrench and a pry bar to move it (yes I am part
animal). New timing chain so it was a must. The carb
was loose and there were vacuum leaks galore, it has
always run fine, it's amazing how robust these engines
are.

I beleive that I have read that a car starter will work but some of you
think that the motor home starter is built better for the heat, is this what
I have read?
I,m in need of a starter.

There is a lot of thought, that if you have the time, you should have your
present starter re-built.
