You are all trying too hard, and telling the poor Sprint Staff far too much.
They just can not handle all that info.

I just sent this to Chuck as I thought maybe he was the only one getting bad
info from Sprint. Not so.

OK folks - here is the deal:

Unfortunately some of you have discovered the biggest problem with Sprint.
It's the lack of personnel training and p??? poor information distribution
(amazing for a communications company ) to their people.

Also - make sure you are talking with SprintPCS not Sprint. You would think
they would work together. Not only does the left hand NOT know what the
right had is doing - it doesn't even know it exists! Even worse when within
divisions.

Don't feel bad - it took me 5 phone calls and even more people to get my
cable and I KNEW it existed.

However - their network, clarity and features are as good as it gets. In
three years I have had to contact Sprint only 3 or 4 times (thank goodness)
and each time I had to educate them as to what I wanted. But then I got it.

Sprint is now running a NATIONAL TV and Radio campaign on their 500 minutes
for $50. It is also at their Web Site. You can get it, but you have to ask
for it. I do not know each of your zip codes, but when I tested a few, 100%
had the promotional rate. I can get the rate in San Francisco, Miami,
Naples, Tampa, Cincinnati, New York, Nashville and Chicago. So I am sure you
can too.

Here is how you can get it...

First try this page direct (this IS SprintPCS):
http://www.sprintpcs.com/promotions/html/holiday.html

If not working try:
http://www.sprintpcs.com
Click on "SHOP" button
Click on "Pricing" tab
Enter your zip code
Click on "Select Service Plans" button

and you will see their STANDARD rates
(Not sure where they got the rates they gave to Chuck)
$29.95 120
$49.95 400
$69.99 600

These are for anyone - Chuck's may be different because his "group" is
getting 15% off. Group rates are not always a bargain. It will cost
you far less on the promotion.

Also forget the words DATA and VOICE. With the Sprint Web Kit Cable, it
is JUST like your home phone line. It does not care who you are calling
or what (person or modem) is on the other end of the phone.

Now for the last step:
Click on the "Promotions" button

and you will see their PROMOTION rates (Ends Nov 14, 1999)
$50.00 500
$70.00 700

Also - once you have the plan of your choice, you simply buy the cable
directly from SprintPCS for $100 (software included) and make sure you get
the Qualcomm 2700 Dual Mode phone.

There are three (3) services --- you want the last one:
SprintPCS Wireless Web Connection
And according to my rep at Sprint, it will work in 90% plus of any area you
can use the digital portion of your SprintPCS (does not work when you switch
to analog mode). So far it has worked 100% of time in Digital Mode.

AGAIN:
Forget whether it is Data or Voice - Sprint has no idea (nor do they care)
what you are using your phone for. You are simply dialing a phone number -
data and voice BOTH work on the same phone, same connection and same areas.

YES YOU CAN PAY MORE:
There ARE two (2) extra charge plans you can get from SprintPCS to access
the internet and email using ONLY their phones. That is what they want to
sell as it has additional monthly fees. Salepeople work on commission. They
always want to upsell.

No - I don't work for Sprint - just tryin' to help those who want to
get connected on the road.

Although I probably know more about Sprint than 99% of their reps -
certainly more than I care to. But wireless internet allows me more time
doing what I want and makes me very mobile. It really does work.

The question I asked the enchanting ladies was: If I buy the cable $99.95,
can I use my laptop and send and receive e-mails, browse webs etc, and talk
interchangeably under the 50/500 plan and the answer was no.

You need the plans I outlined.

If you sign up for the aforementioned plans, the cable is only $29.95. Why
you would order the cable without the plan is beyond my comprehension.

thats what I know
