In my post the other day I recalled that Ron Tace is actually the person
who makes the deflector and gave his eMail address. I think it is
tasegmc31@ either aol or juno.

That is not what I got from the posts I saw. Mine did not require a
"significant" cutout and neither did Mike Finnicum's.

Nor did mine. I'll try to get a picture today.

Fred, I too, have a 78 Royale. Two years ago, Jeff Sirum
installed the "horizontal" ONAN exhaust duct. He made a minor
cut in the generator door. Later, I cut some more to eliminate a
rattle. All in all, the fiberglass work is simple. There is
only cutting/trimming. No "new" fiberglass work is required.
The horizontal exhaust is a definite improvement. Everyone should
invest in this minor expenditure.
