Has anyone tried FEDEX? About 10 yeas ago I shipped a 7' dining room
table, two captain's chairs and 6 side chairs from FL to NY for about
$175.00. The table was of the trestle design so the thing came apart in
order to comply with the girth measurement restriction. And each piece
had to be under 50 or 60 lbs.

I wasn't in any hurry to get the stuff to NY but no one else would handle
it.

Fed-Ex now has a Freight option that has a bit more flexibility in the
dimensioning and weight limits run towards 300 pounds. They do accept
pallets, which would help protect the furniture etc.

Further info can be found at http://fedex.com/ I'm not sure what the average
Joe would pay, as I'm used to dealing with a corporate account with a nice
discount. No can't share, too many questions to answer.

good luck http://fedex.com/

Dave
