Can someone go into the details on how to change from the current 3 belt
system to the serpentine belt. What parts are required, what is the cost
and any other pertinent information.
Thank You

I notice that the GM conversion to serpentine belts is available form Jeg's
at 1-800-345-4545 for chev engines both small and large blocks for about
$190. Everything you need, pullys etc comes in a kit. Have not had time to
see if they also have one for the olds.

I called Jeg and they do not have the serpentine belts for the olds 455 or
403 engine. I have them sending a catalogue and will see if any other belts
might work. Has anyone done this conversion and what did you use?
Thank You

Tim:

If you haven't already, contact Leigh Harrison (703-494-9914) who
developed and markets a serpentine belt system for the GMC.

A few years back - maybe 3- I talked to the owner of March and he
indicated that he had done some for a 455 and 403 but had problems with
getting them to fit properly. He said there was not a large enough
market for them so he would not pursue it further. Perhaps if he had
a committment for 10 systems he might reconsider. On the other hand
Leigh Harrison has it done, but his cost is high compared to a mass
produced March product which is entirely understanable. Leigh's parts
have always been done first rate and his pricing is fair for value
recieved.

Just a seconder re above.
I have just finished installing the LH serpentine scheme and it went in
easy. (Easy as anything else we do to our coaches :-)

Considering the thought and designs time that probably went into it I feel I
received good value for my $.

Just a 2 cent'er
