Seat belts

So for some reason the pair of Palm-Beach-Green seatbelts lying disused behind the couch have gotten really grubby.

Any good tips on cleaning them up? I thought maybe carpet cleaner or one of those OXY spray products might work?

I've rehabbed a few seatbelts with a pressure washer. Soaking with a detergent first is fine, but I've gotten outstanding results on 200k+ mileage
vehicles 20+ years old, with tons of grime and mold. It's best done out of the vehicle...

In a hurry, I've pulled the seatbelt as far out of the vehicle as possible, and closed the door on it. Then prop a 2x4 up against the car, and clamp
the seatbelt to it nice and flat. Then blast away. Moderate the fan pattern and proximity so as not to rough up the material.

Good Idea, but these belts are behind the divan in the living area, quite a way from the door and I also have no access to a power washer, so it's
gonna have to be old school, maybe Dawn soak first then Oxy clean, still ...rinsing will be an issue I think ...and no I can't take them out unless I
remove the wall panels.

40+ years old seat belts are not safe to use. The nylon in the material will have deteriorated and washing will make it even worse. If you are still using the original seat belts you are living in a false security world. Suggest that you go to one of the many replacement seat belt site and buy new.
