Ok I am back on track. I thought that Jim had the spring nuts but not
the bolts. I am now back to letting you know next week, if it is
possible. I am still going to check with him, but I think it is a go.
Next item. Meekly.
Screen doors are going to be delayed. Brutal, and to the point. Sorry
people, really. The design I have in mind has some problems which I need
to work out. I must admit, I am a bit of a perfectionist. If I don't
want it in my coach, I am not going to sell it to you. To be honest, I
thought this would be easier than it is. The curve of the body creates
special problems. If the curve was the same it would be a lot easier.
Unfortunately they aren't. I have had a couple of inquiries from people
who have put their own plans for their own screen door on hold, while
they wait for mine. I say, if you want to go and beat me to the punch,
do it. Because of other considerations I will be, at least, another
couple of months before I tackle this and modify it some more. I think I
said before that it is easy for me to build a door to fit my coach, and
it is. It is, however, difficult to make a design which will fit all
coaches. I do not like the idea of having to bend and torque the door to
fit other curves. This makes for a lesser product. IMO. Although the
screen door is a great addition, it is not high on my list for my GM.
This also knocks it down the totem pole a couple of notches, so to
speak. I am also working on the overhead cabinets to perfect them. A
customer of mine presented me with a terrific idea for doors, which
should keep the cost down and reduce the weight even more. My
partnership, with a friend of mine, is keeping me busy with an improved
Toad Armor design. I really like the Armor and will have samples in
Wash. and Or. Any one who has a tow vehicle needs top see this. Not to
buy. I just like the concept and I really like the design. Apologies to
Bill O'Grady. We have perfected the latch in the middle. The next time I
see you I will retro a latch for you. This brings me to. Any one who
has the first run of Battery Trays who do not have the strike plate for
the bolt, please notify me and I have a pleasant addition for you. It
will take a little work but it is worth it. Ask the ones who have the
strike plate. The engine cover has been modified. I have been working
hard to find a supplier for the cover bolts, for those who like the OEM
hold down. I have found a supplier, but have to get them manufactured to
get the correct length. I will find out more next week. Quantity is the
biggest concern. I have a grill design in the works and should have it
on my site in the next month or 5 weeks. COOL is what I really want to
say. Any one who is looking for a raised cover, give Marcus McGee a
call. He bought one and has changed his configuration and does not
require it. I don't know his price, but you will save money if buying
from me. I also had a suggestion from someone on a larger cabinet in
the rear to accommodate a TV set. If there is a need I would be happy to
fill it.
Jim Penrod. Did the screws I send you work out?
Better news. T-Skirts. I have figured out a way to supply
aluminum T-Skirts without making the price ridiculous. I haven't tried
it yet but am pretty sure it should work out. I will keep you informed.
More aluminum and stainless work to do on my GM.
Thanks to every one out there who has supported me and my fledgling
venture. I realize I have some growing pains and am trying to address
them. After all, that's why I put the + in TZE. I am trying to be more
than just another supplier. Again, as always, any questions or concerns
please, feel free to call me. Darren
