Rick,
That is exactly like what I have on my GMC. I thought it was OEM.

Hi All,
Years ago, 1987 or so, I purchased a sreen door for my '77 Birchaven that
was similar to the one described. A velcro strip on all sides and top,
weights on the bottom. Heavy duty screen.
It separated down the middle with velcro . This screen served our purpose
vey well, our sons were 5&8 and were in and out constantly. The door setup ,
close to the front, behind the passenger seat may have contributed to the
ease of use. I don't remember where I purchased it from, it was mail order
found in FMCA magazine. I will search for vender.

Thanks Shawn

I am trying to find time to go to Detroit and pick up all the tooling and
inventory. Hopefully I will make it next month.

Dan, it sounds like you have decided to buy the Alex Birch screen door
business. If so I'm glad for you. It seems to be a popular door and I am
guessing there is still a market.

Maybe you should get a survey started at the Mart.

I have been talking with Alex. If all goes well we should have something
going before the end of July. I have suggessted a poll on screen doors at
the mart. If anybody is interested in one of these doors please send me a
message at: djacquot I will keep you updated on the
progress of it.

I assume that I have the Birch Screen Door. It is gold coloured.
Although I like it, it is in rough shape. I think that the hinges are
suffering from metal fatigue as it often catches on the door opening.
One time it catches on the top, next time on the bottom. No amount of
adjusting seems to work. It wiggles all around when opening or closing.
So my question to Dan is... are there...or will there be any parts
available to fix up our old doors?
Regards, Gil.

Assuming you have the Alex Birch screen door and I we complete the deal with
Alex, parts will be available.

An SOB (some other brand) may work. I don't have access to one. If you do
you might try it and give us a report. I'm always open to any suggestions.

Terry,
I have one on my coach. I always thought it was OEM until I started
reading posts about the Birch unit. I would not be without it. The fit
and finish is just fine. In fact, it's as good as the exterior coach
door which requires a gasket to seal.
You can't hang from your knees from it but then you can't do that with
any screen door. I'm going out to my coach tonight to work on the
permanent bed so I'll try to remember to bring my digital camera & get a
couple of shots of it for you.
Nice piece!
Steve
