Running honda ev4010 on propane

Wondering if anybody has been running honda ev4010 in propane?

I always hear that propane is better however i read somewhere that pinella's power claims it ruins the honda valves??

I have come accross a couple used units that are set up for propane. There is cost to convert back to gas, but i am still wondering on any damage
that may have been done by propane? Or if i would maybe stick with propane.

I run an EV 4010 on gas. It’s a great unit. You need to talk with Paul at Pinnella Power. He is very knowledgeable.
He has been very helpful to me and is a guru on these generators .

Jon,

With the singular exception of my own 40+yo Honda generator (an L head) every Honda engine I have had anything to do with was a over head valve with
an alloy head. This means that to have any longevity at all, it must have insert seats. As anything Honda will have high quality seat inserts,
propane fuel will not be an issue.

If your guy is old enough to be remembering engines built for lead bearing motor fuel (prior to 1980 more or less), then yes, propane was tough on
valves of those engines.

Matt, I haven't looked closely at the 4010 and 6010, but I thought they were based on Honda's bike tech (overhead cam) as opposed to their lawnmower
engine (overhead valves). The 6010 looks like an overhead cam design.
