roof ac

i am taking out the ac that runs off the engine and buying a brand new low profile roof ac. 2 companys sell the low profile one which one is better and should i change the location to the front vent instaed of the middle? my coach will only have one.

FWIW: We have a 13,500btu in the middle vent (above the door) and
a 7,000btu in the rear, we added the 7k after a trip thru Texas & OK,
we don,t use the dash air at all and are considering removing altogether.
the 7k handles the rear bed area with ease and both units take care of
the coach in almost any weather. ( tinted windows help there)
and the 4KW ONAN can handle the both units fine,

If you really want to depend on one roof unit, I would consider
the new 15,000 duo-therm low profile model. Given the large window
area of our GMC's.....

I can't say which is better as I have experience only with the Penguin II
model from DuoTherm. I like it just fine, its major feature (to me) is
that the whole thing shuts down when it reaches the temp setting, much
like a home a/c. I don't have to listen to the fan all the time.

I took out my rear air and except when I am Laughlin, NV in July, I don't
miss it. I replaced it with a Fantastic Vent; number 3 for my coach!

If you eliminate engine air, I would definately move it the roof air
forward!
