I don't know how many members of this forum knew of Richard "Arch" Archer. He was one of the first posters on the GMCnet.

Sadly he passed away some time ago. I only found out about this because I wondered what happened to him and googled his name:

I didn't personally know Arch, but I did read his postings of the revamping of his Commodore's Cruiser when I first got my coach over 15 years ago. I did see him and his coach at a GMCMI rally where he had his coach and toad up for sale. He seemed larger than life.

I drove that coach home for him from that rally in Du Quoin.

It's a coincidence that while some of us are remembering Arch, today (April 20, 2024) they are having the 49th cardboard boat race that he started back in 1974.
