Hi Dan, sorry to hear about your misfortune. It only takes a second
when trouble strikes. I was on I-80 in Salt Lake City when I heard this
terrible noise. I am nearly deaf. My wife usual hears for me. Nope
not this time. We were between a couple of those crash barriers on the
free way and I had to slow fro the 60's to about 10 when it happened.
Bearings!. Everything you know and do is too late. I stopped the motor
immediately but the damage was done. No indications. I learned a lot
since then. I have had three motors in the GMC trying to get this
corrected. The next engine lasted 300 miles the next 700 miles and now
I have a brand new rebuild from my original one. There are lots of
required refinements for the olds engine so before you leap look. I
couldn't afford any more money so I traded my Harley Davidson for the
motor and labor. Am I happy, no. But I have my GMC running. Chuck
