Ralph,
I too felt it necessary to replace the original seats in my GMC,
although it wasn't because I found them uncomfortable. I needed a dual
occuapancy or buddy seat for the passenger side so the wife and
grandson could take in the extraordinary view through those big, wide
curved GMC winshields with me as we tool down the road together. Also I
like the company up front.

Well, I found the folks at Mastercraft, Inc., Shishewana, Indiana
(800-522-5652) very helpful in supplying new swiveling seats at a
reasonable price. Clara Bender was the sales person I worked with and
she was most patient in sending me their product info.(including a buddy
seat model) and fabric samples so we got just what we wanted. I
recommend you give them a call and discuss your needs.

I oredered the 8 inch tall pedestals for the seats which works out well
for the GMC. To install the seats, I had to weld the swiveling
pedestals (bases) to an 1/8 inch steel plate that I drilled to match
the bolt holes for the orignal seat bases. I used lap belts that mount
to the seat frames, so the swiveling feature can be used without hanging
up in the belts.

I recently learned that there is an electric windshield wiper motor that
is a direct replacement for the the OEM GMC hydraulic motor. I believe
that Holiday Rambler uses the electric motor on their coaches. Anyway,
Zeb Frady at Southland Motorhomes, Buford, Georgia can give you the
details on it, but he told me that it is pretty expensive. Zeb can be
called at (770) 271-7502 and he is always very helpful when I call.
Good luck with your modifications.
