Hi,
I'm goint to start removing the old carpet in my 74 painted desert.
Anybody have any tips on how to best acheive this?
Thanks,
Rob Teed

If your floor is rotted I just finished repairing mine by replacing the
plywood. Not difficult at all. If you need information e-mail me.

Hi Arch,
I have been following your progress. Looks like Your doing things
right. My carpet has a pad under it, I started pulling it off around
the front seat base...Looks like it was glued on. Maybe its just glued
on the vertical areas....What are You talking about a ramp in the back?
I dont think there is one in mine.
Take care, I hope to see You on the road someday,

Hi,

We are in the process of re-carpeting our Painted Desert as we speak.
We just finished the front (drivers area) Our carpet was the shag
with the padding and carpet in one. Then they had glued it to the
floor. We have been scraping the floor after pulling the carpet up.
We have had no serious problems. We are doing it in sections, so we
start the living area next. The old carpet was the original and they
had pieced in many area.

It sure looks better with new carpet!

Hi Les & Des,
I hope mine comes up eazy enough...So far all I have managed to
remove is a patch off the front seat area. That came off ok but
there is pad material glued on there. I'll have to scrape that!
Have a great day,
Rob
