Like Claude, I have been running the MSD knock sensor and timing control and
have been very pleased. I recently installed the Howell EFI. The
combination allows me to keep the stock distributor and simplifies the
change back to the Rochester every two years to keep the State happy, since
we also have a visual inspection besides the tail pipe sniff. The knock
sensor and control combination allow me to advance and "get on the step"
when cruising. or take care of elevation and gas changes. BTW the MSD timing
control simply connects in parallel to the distributor module wires so any
failure allows you to run under stock timing.
