We're currently having the Birhaven bumpers rechromed in Houston. Will take
about 3 weeks...cost at about half of above estimate. The work is being done
by a 3 man shop that focuses primarily on doing small specialty pieces for
racing and restoration folks. The gmc bumpers are large but easier to work
on as it's mostly straight peices. Re-chroming is a nasty process; the
hardest part, as I understand it, being the de-plating of the old chrome. As
such there aren't many of these businesses around so this shop doesn't even
advertise ....all business is referral. We got the name from a race engine
garage...
