It's sometimes useful to remember that GM issued a decree, IIRC in 1973,
that all NEW designs from 1974 on would be metric. SO, there was a long
period, including most of GMCMH production run, when "old" designs were
continuing to be produced, with "new" modifications -- in METRIC. Talk
about a mish-mash! And the world still suffers from a lot of that fiasco
-- but what else could they have done?
