I respect Patrick's concern, but being able to remove the radiator by removing
the bottom of the
frame, coupled with splitting the fan shroud in half (lower half removeable)
makes it very easy to
work on the front of the engine. I've done the dirty deed and now only have to
lift the front end
about 6 inches for rad removal.
Now, next question, my exhaust manifold gaskets were replace just about a year
ago (previous owner).
Noticed small split on the left hand gasket with some exhaust leakage. I have
found thru the archives and
GMC sites that NAPA has a good gasket and also Mr. Gasket is recommended. Do I
use any type of
sealer goop when installing a new gasket on these engines (455)? Exhaust
manifold was surfaced
last time. The present gasket is a very thick, gray material.
Thanks
