I drove my '76 PB yesterday for the first time in 3 months. While I was
driving I remembered a question that I had about the Power Level
indicator light. It never goes out when in Drive.

What's the purpose of that indicator? Was it supposed to be reminder to
put the "Power Level" dials in the "Travel" position? Is it supposed to
go out after a while?

The owner's manual I have is a bit vague on the subject.

I think there it's supposed to go out. Is there a timer of some sort
that shuts it off. If there is and mine is bad, where do I get a new
timer?

It should stay on for a short while. I never timed mine, but my implression
is that it stays on for 15-30 seconds.

Just a reminder.

Thanks for the reply. It would appear that I need to get a replacement for
whatever it is that shuts the light off.

In the meantime, if that light is really bothering you....take out the
bulb :-)

That's exactly the information I was looking for! By the way, where is the
timer located?

Yes the compressor shuts off and I have a light for that. The previous owner
did made the modification you mentioned to indicate the air compressor cycling.
But I reversed that when I installed a new instrument panel (from Custom
Instrument Panels). The power level light goes on when I put the coach in
drive and stays on until I go out of drive.
