A while back I mentioned that I had found a way to mount the black
plastic hubcaps that GM puts on some of its late model GMC 3/4 ton
pickup trucks and vans. These are not full wheel covers and only cover
the center bearing dust cap and lugs of the OEM steel on my Transmode.
Patrick has been very helpful and I appreciate his putting the pictures
and text of what I did it on his website http://www.gmcmotorhome.com
. If you are interested, look under "What's New" or the Technical page,
at "Wheels". Before attempting this option, please note:

CAUTION: Because this project involves drilling two small holes in each
wheel, anyone
attempting this modification will undoubtedly be weakening the wheels.
However, I have
driven my coach over 10,000 miles as of 1/1/99 with these
modifications and no signs of
cracking have developed from the holes. It is always important to
keep the lug nuts
tightened to the 250 ft.-lb. torque specified by GM for these
wheels.
