I sometimes have a cutting out on acceleration

I noticed the same problem on really hot days. The PO had installed an
electric fuel pump with an intermittant switch on the dash. I
discovered that if I ran the electric pump during hard acceleration
there was no lean out condition. I also use it when "hot starting" the
engine. I also tried it on the long grade coming up out of the desert
going up Inkopah pass east of San Diego, it made a difference & the
engine temp stayed down. I plan on switching to electric as soon as I
finish the front suspension work.

Yep, I run mine all the time behind the mechanical, take a look at my page
for the recommended wiring from AC.
