DOES ANYONE ON THE LIST HAVE ANY IDEAS RE: TEMPORARY REPLACEMENT OF THE
PASSENGER BUCKET SEAT WITH A DUAL SEAT AS ONE MIGHT SEE IN A PICKUP? IF
IT IS POSSIBLE, IT WOULD SAVE THE FIGHTS OVER WHO GETS TO RIDE SHOTGUN
:).

Jim:

A dual passenger seat was an option in the GMC produced interior models.
I have seen some. As I recall, the seat has a swivel mechanism so that
you can clear the area to open the engine compartment cover.

If you're interested, perhaps someone has one gathering dust.

Another option I've noted is a wide passenger seat from say a Cadillac,
I believe, 60/40 bench seat.

My 73 has the dual passenger seat, but there is no swivel. You just
perform some minor gymnastics to remove the engine cover. It's very
plain though - not something you'd consider "upgrading" to.

Southland Motorhome Center (Zeb Frady) took out our double seat
several years ago. He saves all GMC parts, so he could still have
it. His number is (770) 271-7502.

Hope it helps!

Jim: I saw one of the GMC versions of this seat at Alex Sirum's place last
Saturday. The one I saw needed some TLC but was not torn...
