Onan Walbro Carb type LMB repairs

Per Luis Salas at Walbro, Walbro has run out of LMB parts and can no longer service this carb.

SOL on LMB-185 rebuilds from Walbro.

The K1-LBM kit is still available from vendors for minor parts.

Walbro mentioned that if anyone in the country had LMB's or parts it would be V.E. Peterson in Ohio. I called, They also no longer have any LMB's
available.

A while back there was someone here that had been comparing some of the Chinese Walbro copies for a potential candidate. I know the Chinese make replacement carbs for many of the Kohler engines, so it might be possible that a suitable carb exists for the Onan. There are quite a few examples to examine on eBay, as well as Aliexpress, and several other Chinese sites.

I hope someone can find something. I'm not familiar enough with carb & engine dynamics to be able to determine if a carb would be workable. A big
part of the problem would be the linkage connections to the carb, once the mounting was determined to work.

I believe, from my discussion with Walbro, that most LMB carbs have the same basic frame and the LMB type # has much to do with the linkages. I have
ordered a NIB LMB-182 and will test my belief.

Don't forget that JimK Applied offers a rebuild service. So talk to them and see if they can help with a LMB. They need a good core but may have
some cores available, based on the core charge note.

Is there something wrong with the original carb that prevents it from being overhauled? The needle/seat installation is kind of tricky but other than that I’ve had no problems rebuilding them with the K1-LMB kit.

The K1-LMB kit did not solve the problem. I am suspecting an internal passage is clogged. Are you aware of information on the internal workings of
the LMB? Specifically all the internal fuel and air flow passages. Some are obvious. Others are a mystery. I would also like to know the purpose
of the rod in the passage between the lower end of the nozzle and the idle adjustment screw.

You are correct the needle/seat and float level setting is tricky. But ya get good at putting that float spring in correctly by the time the float is
set.
