Onan shutdowns...

Gary,
There could be several reasons for the generator shutting down, including
low oil pressure or low fuel flow. It's a long shot, but I had a similar
experience once. Without going through all of the things I tried
unsuccessfully to correct the problem, it turned out to be a leaking float
in the carburetor. It was a weekend, and there were no ONAN parts
available. The leak was a crack in the brass float. I drilled a hole at
each end of the crack and drained the gas out of it. I then repaired it
with JB Weld. I ordered a replacement and carried it with me for a couple
of years, before I got around to replacing it.

I hope this helps.
