What does this pertain to??? I and many others I've seen, run our
generators with them slid out. Never had a problem. In fact, most every
time I'm stationary and operate the generator, it's slid out for cooling
purposes.

And remember -- don't start the onan with it slid out unless you support the
a** end of the starter. It will break the starter mount. This is especially
true if you're changing/setting the points.
