For my (6k) Onan I bought a K&N air filter.P/N R-1030. On one end it
has an angle mount, and the other end is closed. I cut the angle end
off and glued a piece of gasket material on for a seal. On the other
end I glued a piece of metal on it to reinforce it, and drilled a hole
for the rod. I bought a longer piece of threaded and cut it to the
right length and installed it. The filter is 3in.dia.& 6in.long. The
filter cost me $27.81 with tax.

A week or so ago someone posted an 800 number where a 'permanent' air
filter can be ordered for the Onan. I copied it down, but the official
housecleaner here at our house didn't know it was important. Would
someone please post that number again .
