I am in.... do you want a check?

How about a stainless or al Onan vent scoop at the same time ??? One we
do not have to cut the door for ? I know you have a new door.

Manny:

Steve Harman in Ohio, 2nd generationn GMC owner, has a tube bending firm.
He already makes a very nice replacement stainless steel muffler/exhaust
system for the Onan.

I need to replace the onan muffler and checked on a replacement.
It seems the original muffler is not available anymore but Onan has a
similar
muffler. Comes as a kit 155-1962. The dealer wanted $275.77.
>From the GMCMI newsletter I found that Don Simmons was selling a

him,
he's not making them anymore even with an order of 10. He only sold 4 in
five
years and is very disappointed that the GMC community didn't support
him.
I'm going to fabricate my own stainless steel muffler. Buying the
material
just for one muffler will cost $140.00 plus $60.00 for welding, drilling

holes and bending the tube.
Buying the material in bulk, enough to make 20 mufflers will cost $87.00
per
kit.
If there is interest I will do the leg work and put it together.
The price would be around $150.00 or less if the shop charges me less
than
$60.00 per unit.

Manny,
I have one of Dons muffler set ups on my Onan. The PO of my coach had
installed it before I bought the coach. Nice piece! The real thing is
to keep the cost as low as possible. Good Luck.

Manny,
You might want to contact Joseph Dollendorf at advanced RV in National
City. After he installed the Generac unit in Heinz's coach, he made a
production run on the mufflers in case anyone wanted the same. (619)
426-8767. This is out of my area of expertise but the price you're
quoting sounds way too high. Any muffler will work, making up the pipes
takes a bit of talent though. The last time I was there I saw a large
bin of Genset mufflers.
