I have a 6000 watt onan generator model number is 6.ONH.IR/9000F could be an E It was running fine putting out 119 to 120 volts shut it down came
back 30 minutes later and no voltage. I have checked the breakers and plugged into ground power and everything works like it should, So the problem
is with the generator

Did you have a load on the generator when you shut it off, and, did you
pull your finger off the "stop" switch before it completely stopped? If in
fact, you did, perhaps you toasted the bridge rectifier. Simple inexpensive
fix for that. Contact Jim K. and order a replacement. Simple modification
to the tangs, and you are good to go.

We can get you full instruction on location and what to do with the bridge
rectifier.

Hey, would anyone have a copy of those instructions handy? I bought a bridge rectifier from Jim back in 2017 as a spare to carry, and I realize now,
I don't think I have the instructions on what needs to be adapted to use the new version in place of the original....

If it matters, I have a 4K Onan...

Here is a link to photos of the OEM and mods to the replacement.

Two of the pins are labeled + (positive) and - (Negative). Orient the original and replacement rectifiers so those pins are in the same position.
Note the ones that need to be twisted to match the original.

In this photo, the original (OEM) is on the left. A new one is in the center, and a new one modified with twisted pins is on the right.

You can buy this from any electronic distributor for about $2.50 each. I'm kinda partial to DigiKey because of the fast & inexpensive shipping. Get
one rated at 25 Amps and 1000 volts. The high voltage rating may save the replacement next time the generator is shut down under load.

Mark,
We can send over the instruction on where the Bridge Rectifier is located
and how to modify the connectors.
Trusting the terminals is ok , but it is not that easy as the legs normally
do not line up.

In lieu of twisting the pins you can make up four short wires, each with a female spade connector on obne end and a male on the other.
